Terms of Service

Please read these terms carefully. By creating an account you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
1. Who we are
Handover (“we”, “us”) is a service provided by Northern Tech Ltd, a company registered in Scotland. Contact: hello@northerntechltd.com.
2. What the service does
Handover reads iCal calendar feeds you provide (from Airbnb, Booking.com, Vrbo, and similar platforms), automatically creates cleaning-job records for each checkout, and provides a web interface for you and your cleaners to view and manage those jobs. We are a scheduling tool. We are not a booking platform, a cleaning agency, or a payment intermediary between you and your cleaner.
3. Your account
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- You are responsible for keeping your login credentials safe.
- You are responsible for the accuracy of any data you enter (property details, cleaner details, iCal URLs).
- You confirm you have the right to add every iCal feed you connect and the right to share cleaner contact details with us.
4. Pricing and billing
- Your first property is free forever. Additional properties cost £15 per property per month, billed in advance.
- Prices are in pounds sterling and shown exclusive of VAT. If VAT applies it will be added at checkout.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing you agree to Stripe's terms.
- Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel any time from the billing page. Cancellation stops the next renewal; there are no partial-month refunds.
- We may change our pricing at any time, with at least 30 days' email notice before it applies to your subscription.
5. Fair use
You agree not to:
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or attempt to extract source code from the service.
- Use the service to send spam, unlawful communications, or content you do not have the right to share.
- Add iCal URLs you did not obtain lawfully.
- Attempt to gain access to other users' accounts or data.
- Resell or white-label the service without our written agreement.
We may suspend or close accounts that breach these rules. Where feasible we will contact you first.
6. Ownership
You own all the property, cleaner and job data you enter. You grant us a limited licence to process that data solely to operate the service. We own the Handover software, branding, and any aggregated or anonymised statistics derived from usage.
7. Third-party services
Handover reads iCal feeds hosted by third parties (e.g. Airbnb, Booking.com, Vrbo) and uses Stripe for payments and Supabase for hosting. We are not responsible for outages, errors, or changes at those third parties. We are responsible for our own service.
8. Availability
We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Planned maintenance will be announced by email when possible. iCal feeds are re-synced roughly every 15 minutes; a job may not appear in your dashboard immediately after a new booking is made.
9. Warranties and liability
The service is provided “as is”. To the maximum extent allowed by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the service is capped at the amount you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss (lost profits, lost bookings, lost guest reviews). Nothing in these terms limits liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
10. Data protection
How we handle personal data is described in our Privacy Policy. That document forms part of these terms.
11. Ending the agreement
You can close your account any time from the dashboard or by emailing us. We can close an account for material breach of these terms, or on 30 days' notice for any other reason. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (ownership, liability, governing law) will do so.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Scotland. Any dispute will be handled by the Scottish courts, without prejudice to any statutory consumer rights you may have where you live.
13. Changes
We may update these terms occasionally. If a change is material we will email active accounts at least 14 days before it takes effect. Continued use after the change means you accept the new terms.
